Another victory. Another clean sheet. Another three points.

With each passing game, Ange Postecoglou gets ever closer to perfecting his style of play that is now starting to see the undoing of every team he comes up against in Scotland.

Whether it will work consistently in Europe, time will tell but as he starts to get more and more players back from injury, the Celtic boss continues to impress with his style of play and incredible possession, passing and shooting stats.

BBC pundit Michael Stewart was waxing lyrical about the Hoops gaffer and praised the Celtic board for the ‘astute acquisition’ of the Australian whilst making a bold title claim.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Stewart said, “For me Ange Postecoglou is a very astute acquisition as a manager.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that he knows what he wants. And  I remember a few weeks ago and just when they were coming out of that tough run of the results.

“And I can’t remember who posed the question but there was a lot of chat about him to sacrifice the style of play to get some results and he said, ‘Look, playing good football and getting good results, they’re not mutually exclusive.’

“And he’s absolutely spot on. This belief that play a bit of crap football and get a few results and then you’re okay. It’s about doing the work properly and implementing the style of football properly, and that will get you results.

“The big thing is getting the right players in place and I don’t think there’s any doubt, most certainly in my mind, that centre half pairing, when it comes to the crunch, against the  the top teams.

“That is the weak spot of the team, but middle to front, as a team now that you can see, certainly have got options and have got a bit of creativity and scoring power as you can see from the fact that they are the top goalscorer in the league by a fair distance.

“Are they going to win the league? Difficult to say. But I think they’re, they’re a lot closer to potentially doing something like that than I think anybody would have thought, at the start of the season.”
