Transfer windfall is imminent as player departure beckons

|

Celtic look to be ready for a transfer windfall as ex striker Moussa Demebele is the topic of hot transfer speculation.  The French hitman has been linked with various clubs over the last couple of days and as more enter the running for his signature, this can only be good news for Celtic as clubs look to outbid each other.

Celtic are due a reported 10% sell on clause for any transfer fee that Lyon obtain for the striker and with teams from the mega money English Premier League and Spanish La Liga interested, the money the Hoops could receive will be in the millions, which will please Peter Lawwell and the Celtic board.

Celtic fans will be hoping that the money received from the deal will be spent on the team to help strengthen for the push for the title, but any monies received MUST be spent wisely.

With West Ham being “snubbed” by Dembele, it seems his preferred move would be to La Liga table toppers Atletico Madrid.  Diego Simeone has made contact with Lyon with an initial loan deal for the latter half of the season being proposed with the option to buy in the summer.  The fee is likely to be around the £30m mark which means Celtic are in for a much welcome cash boost.

The Frenchman has been prolific for Lyon, scoring 32 goals in 73 appearances and it is little wonder he is on demand from the Continent.
