The Patrick Roberts rumour mill, or the Transfer Window as people like to call it, was finally laid to rest tonight.  There was speculation that Roberts would have been allowed to go out on loan, with Celtic being a likely destination, in January but Middlesbrough manager, Neil Warnock, has said that the popular ex Celtic winger is going nowhere. Warnock says the tricky midfielder needs to knuckle down and find some consistency in his work rate as when he was asked if he has seen a reaction from Roberts, Warnock hinted that his attitude can be temperamental.

Speaking to Teeside Live, Warnock said,  “I don’t think anybody will be going anywhere.

“We’ve had no enquiries for him (Roberts), I don’t think his agent has, I don’t think Manchester City have.

“He has to knuckle down and do the best. I thought he looked quite bright when he came on.

“He just tried to do the unbelievable pass every time. He has to just clam down a little bit and keep possession a bit more.

“There’s no doubting his ability.

“I’m sure if we get many more injuries he’s got to come into the reckoning, Patrick, because he has got so much to offer.

“He will definitely come into the reckoning.”
