Many Celtic fans are keen on the club making a move for winger Patrick Roberts this summer after news emerged this weekend that he’s been frozen out by current side Girona.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, the former Hoops attacker, who enjoyed an incredibly successful loan spell at Celtic Park, has been dumped out of the Spanish side’s squad after a difficult season.
Still contracted to parent club Manchester City, he could be on the move again this summer with just one year left on his deal at the Etihad.
Could that pave the way for a Celtic move for him in the upcoming transfer window? He currently has a market value of £4.5m according to Transfermarkt.
He’d certainly give us an attacking boost on the wings and could prove to be a long-term replacement for Scott Sinclair, who has a year’s option left on his current contract at Celtic Park.
It’s become something of a tradition for Hoops fans to beg him to come back to Glasgow, but that seems to have started especially early this year.
These fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on his potential signing…
Wanting Patrick Roberts back is no slight against or criticism of James Forrest. We can easily accomodate both especially if Scott Sinclair moves on. We need to beef up quality in the squad. It;s class players like Paddy we should be after.

Paddy Roberts back at Man City from Girona. I wonder if he’s now creeping into Celtic’s price range? Celtic and Paddy Roberts are tailor-made for each other. If he wants to get his career back on track, Celtic is the place to do it.
