Full-back Mark Wilson knows he will have to be patient as he waits for his chance at Celtic Park.

Wilson is still to appear in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this season after recently recovering from a groin problem.

The 26-year-old did though feature in the 6-0 drubbing of Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Co-operative Insurance Cup last month.

“I’ve played the last few reserve games, maybe three or four now, and the first-team game against Inverness in the League Cup, so I’m not lacking in match fitness,” Wilson told Celtic’s official website. “It was just a case that I was out through injury and the team’s been performing well.

“Sometimes that happens in football and you just have to bide your time. I’m back being involved training every day and have been for a good few weeks now,” he added.

“I feel like I’ve been doing okay, and the manager and the coaching staff have told me on a number of occasions that they’re pleased at how I’m playing and just to wait my time.

“So it’s really just a case of keeping my head up and not getting too disappointed that I’m not in the team.”
