BBC Scotland pundit and former Celtic striker Scott McDonald couldn’t get enough of Hoops winger James Forrest this weekend after his starring role for Scotland in their 4-0 win away to Albania.

Forrest scored two on the night, his first Scotland goals ever, with the second of the night wowing every onlooker. Dinking the ball past a defender before smashing home, it was the kind of goal you don’t usually associate with the national team.

McDonald was in awe, taking to Twitter to declare it as ‘world class’.

Forrest has really upped his game over the last 18 months and appears to be finally living up to the potential he was touted as having from a young age.

The winger has scored a phenomenal nine goals and assisted twelve times so far this season for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

It’s form that if continues will make him a frontrunner for player of the year awards come the end of the campaign.

Long may it continue.
