21-year-old hints at blockbuster transfer move to Celtic this summer

|

On loan Celtic attacker Oliver Burke could not be happier with life in Glasgow right now and is already making his summer intentions pretty clear.

The West Bromwich Albion man has been a stellar start to his Hoops career, scoring two goals in his first five appearances and impressing supporters with his work ethic, ball control and link-up abilities in the final third.

The regular football on offer from manager Brendan Rodgers is delighting the 21-year-old and he’s given a pretty big hint he would love to stay here beyond the season.

As quoted by The Daily Record, the Scotland U21 international said this week:

I’ve experienced different opportunities and countries, and it’s been fun but I want to be settled and find a club where I’m happy and enjoying my football. I got sick of the whole moving around thing.

I know this is a loan at the moment, it’s going really great, so we’ll see what happens. I’m enjoying myself at Celtic, I really like it here. I think it’s a great club with great team-mates who have made me feel welcome.

Not only that, we’re doing really well on the pitch as well and creating a chemistry that’s working. Long may it continue.

Obviously West Brom will have their own thoughts on the player’s future and having spent big money to sign him from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig will take a lot of convincing to let him go easily.

There’s every chance we are priced out of a move for the forward, but given his pretty obvious desire to stay in Glasgow we surely have the upper hand entering negotiations?

It will also all depend on just how valuable he is to us over the next few months. His initial form has been pleasing but can he sustain it through a competitive title-race?

These are questions I am looking forward to finding out the answer to in the second half of the season.
