Hopes are incredibly high that Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele has a bright future ahead of him in the Hoops first-team, but any debut will not be occurring until February 22nd at the earliest.

Hype surrounding the young player ramped up again this week after he was pictured in training with the first team at Lennoxtown, with many speculating that Brendan Rodgers will give him a much anticipated debut soon.

However, the player is still just 15 years of age and SPFL rules dictate he cannot make an appearance until he turns 16, with his birthday coming later this month.

Dembele committed his immediate future to the club in December after signing his first ever professional contract that keeps him in Glasgow until 2021.

There’s every chance that he will make history and become the club’s youngest ever player. The current record holder is Jack Aitchison, who was 16 years and 71 days old when he made his debut against Motherwell, also becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Fans have been keeping an eye on his progress for years, with the youngster making headlines in 2016 when at 13 years of age he made an appearance for the club’s U20s side.

Can he fulfil his potential and become a star at Celtic Park?
