Celtic fans are keen on seeing Porto defender Chancel Mbemba arrive at the club this January, with The Scottish Sun reporting he is set to be used as a makeweight in a £14m deal for midfielder Olivier Ntcham.
The paper say that Brendan Rodgers wanted to bring him to Glasgow in the last transfer window, but the DR Congo international ended up making the move to Portugal from Newcastle United for £8m.
With Porto desperate to buy Ntcham though, they’re willing to pack Mbemba’s bags and put him on a plane to Scotland to help get the deal done.
The 24-year-old has played just two league matches for the Portuguese side this season but excellent experience at Newcastle and Anderlecht, where he played through two UEFA Champions League campaigns, he could come in and compete for first-team places in the Hoops defence.
Supporters are keen on seeing the deal happen and reckon Mbemba is just the ticket to replace Dedryck Boyata, who is set to the leave the club at the end of the season.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on bringing the player to Celtic…

I would be happy if they offer Mbemba. This guy was a class act at Anderlecht, not possible he lost all his potential.

Class business if this happens for a player who’s hardly featured this season. Decent player in Mbemba also👏🏽 https://t.co/TNPbngrHKv

Mbemba and £15m 🤔
I'll carry him on my back to Portugal for that!
Probably bullshit, but if it happens surely to fuck we'd follow it up with some serious spending..

I know it’s the Sun, but if this is true, I’d snap their hands off for this. Mbemba is just the kind of centre half we need https://t.co/Z24yC6YdmM
