Erik Sviatchenko has left the club with him making his stay in Denmark now permanent.
The centre-half left for Midtjylland earlier on in the campaign on a loan deal after it became clear that Brendan didn’t have him in his most immediate plans for the season.
He’s done well over there by all accounts, though, with him deciding to make his next step in his career back towards Scandinavia on a permanent basis.
It’s a shame as he still probably had a bit to offer but, at the same time, it’s not a big deal to me really.
Anyway, we wish him well and this is what he had to say on Twitter, with our fans’ reactions below:

I am not happy with Brendan Rodgers on this matter. Letting Sviatchenko go is a massive mistake!

The Verdict
He had plenty of strength but wasn’t quick enough for Brendan’s style I don’t think.
He could have perhaps improved further but I’m sure we’ll be able to replace him easily enough.
