The will he, won’t he (sounds familiar right?) sign saga has been ongoing not for months regarding Cameron Carter-Vickers and a possible permanent move to Celtic.
With the Hoops fans desperate for CCV to sing on the dotted line, the American defender has been an absolute stand out this season for the Parkhead club as they bid to reclaim the Scottish Premier League title.
But according to a report from SBI Soccer, the East End club are in ‘advanced talks’ to secure the solid defenders signature.
The report claims, “Celtic is in advanced talks to acquire Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal from Tottenham, a source close to the player confirmed to SBI.
“English clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, and Watford have all expressed interest in the American defender, but Celtic continues to push to retain Carter-Vickers long-term.”
This would be a stunning coup for Celtic as they bid to keep a hold of Carter Vickers and it seems that the lure of Champions League football could be a major factor in the final decision making for he move.
CCV has been a bit of a journeyman throughout his career with Celtic being his seventh loan club but it does seem as though he has found a home at the club.
Let’s hope Ange Postecoglou can make it a permanent one.
