Disappointing this one to be honest and one that has been in the front of everyone’s mind that follows Celtic B team.
Ben Doak to Liverpool was a transfer that many Celtic fans (including myself) hoped would not happen.
I was wishing that Doak would see that Ange Postecoglou had revolutionised the way the Celtic youths are integrated into first team action and stick around to develop himself at Paradise for years to come.
I believe Ange was hoping that too and that is why he decided to put him on at the tail end of Celtic’s 3-0 hammering of our rivals at Paradise in February.
It wasn’t to be and Doak decided to sign on the dotted line and join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield yesterday.
The former Celt released a photo on Instagram to celebrate the move and some of Celtic’s current players sent him messages of luck:
Doak was very highly rated at Celtic Park and it this is also clearly reciprocated down at Liverpool where they have very high hopes for the Scotland u17 international.
It will be interesting to watch Doak’s development in the EPL and the youngster has stated that he has ambitions to play for the Liverpool first team in the coming years.
