Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre’s first start for the club since re-signing this summer has gone down well with supporters, with many praising his performance at Firhill against Partick Thistle.
With Kieran Tierney missing training late last week, he wasn’t risked for the Scottish League Cup encounter ahead of our trip to Lithuania this week and the Honduran was called upon to fill his boots.
He performed well throughout and looked more than capable back-up to the popular Scotland international.
Ever since the 32-year-old left last summer, we haven’t had a direct replacement for Tierney and now the pressure has again been lifted off the youngster’s shoulders.
For all the talk of transfer failures over the last few months, this is a Brendan Rodgers decision that is going down a treat with fans.
