As quoted by the Daily Record, Mikael Lustig has revealed that he is a fitness doubt for the Old Firm game at the weekend.
The latest Glasgow Derby takes place on Sunday and it is a big chance for us to effectively rubber stamp our latest title win against the Gers.
Lustig, though, is a fitness doubt and whilst that is a concern it is also indicative of us needing to replace him in the summer.
The Swedish defender has been a real loyal servant to us in recent years and has won plenty with us but every player’s career comes to an end at this level eventually.
And, whilst we all like him, his fitness is only going to get worse and Neil Lennon will be well aware of that.
It might sound a bit ruthless, but now seems the perfect time to bring in some fresh blood in an area that needs strengthening.
