With the Celtic interest in Kevin Nesbit somewhat heating up,  a report warns in Russian Football News, that it may not be as easy as they think to attract the Scottish international to swap the green of Leith for the hoops of Glasgow.

The report warns that there is new interest in Nesbit from Russian duo Krasnodar and Spartak Moscow and claims have been made that the Hibee’s agent has already held talks with both clubs.

In a startling turn of events, this news will alarm the Celtic board as competing against any Russian team in terms of a salary will be nigh on impossible.

Nesbit is in high demand with teams from the English Championship also expressing an interest and with a value of £3.5m being attached to the hitman, it seems an offer of £4m may be enough to tempt the Edinburgh club to part with their star man.

With many departures expected from Celtic this summer, including French u21 star Odsonne Edouard, Nesbit could be seen as the ideal man to give Leigh Griffiths some competition for his place in the first team.

Nesbit’s agent, Nicolas Nicholson, confirmed the conversations took place with both Russian clubs when he said, “Krasnodar is really interested in Kevin. They first got in touch a few months ago, and we’ve been in touch ever since.

“He also likes Spartak Moscow. They made contact, we talked”

Although no concrete offer has materialised there probably would have been figures spoked about at both meetings, and that should worry Ange Postecoglou and the Parkhead bean counters.
