Yesterday afternoon Vital Celtic reported on a departure from Paradise that will leave the Celtic fans shocked if it actually happens this window.
There seems to be growing confidence that Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor is eyeing a move to the English Premiership or beyond.
As we reported yesterday, Go Radio pundit and journalist, Mark Guidi said of Celtic’s midfield dynamo, “Some people have told me that Callum McGregor still has an itch to go down south and try the English Premier League, which is totally understandable.”
That rumour now seems to be gathering pace as a second pundit and agent Craig Moore let it slip on The Go Radio Football Show that he has also heard rumours that McGregor could be nearing the exit door this summer, “I’m still hearing the potential rumours, rumours but we’ve got to sometimes speak about what we’re hearing and Callum McGregor and all of these stories about potentially him moving on as well.
“And yet, a week ago we’re talking about, you know, him being the captain.”
As the rumour has now been verified by a second source, how worried should the Celtic fans be at hearing this again? McGregor is one player we simply cannot afford to lose.
With Christie, Edouard, Ajer and possibly N’tcham ready to leave the club, having someone like McGregor around that has that connection with the club and experience of winning trophies, is vital.
Make no mistake. Losing McGregor at any point but would be a disaster. But losing him now? That would be a catastrophe!
