Alex Rae live radio Lennon blast – “He’s hung the players out to dry!”

|

Last night, Clyde 1 Superscoreboard pundit, Alex Rae, had an amazing on air rant about Neil Lennon and the Celtic players.  He also questioned the leadership at Celtic Park from the boardroom to the manager and claimed that Lennon has “hung his players out to dry” followed by a “the players have downed tools” assessment.

Giving his opinion on last nights episode, Rae said, “Another week and nothing comes out of the Celtic hierarchy. Neil Lennon is the guy that’s been left to answer these questions.  He said post match that maybe the players are tired of winning.

“I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous in my life.  When you are winning games, you want that to continue. You don’t never get fed up winning games, believe me, so I just thought that was unnecessary.

“He has kind of hung the players out to dry and if he hadn’t lost them before now, he most certainly has after that. The problem they have at the moment is that they are limping from one mistake to the next.”

Then Rae went on to talk about outgoing Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, and he said the new man needs  to come in now, before continuing his rant on the Celtic players downing tools, “They need to get him in now (Dominic McKay) otherwise he won’t have the time to implement his ideas.

“So then you get to the players. Talking about downed tools? They have downed tools.  Look at all these players who have been magnificent for years.

“Hugh’s saying that they’ll get out from midnight but who’s going to take them in the current form?  So, you know there’s a lot of issues at Parkhead.  There is no leadership. They’ve doubled down, they’re in the bunker, and they need to come out and answer the fans. The Celtic fans deserve better”.
