Potentially bringing Scott McKenna to Celtic Park continues to be a divisive issue amongst Celtic supporters, although there are plenty who would like to see him make the switch to Glasgow from Aberdeen.

The January transfer is looming and supporters are considering which positions at the club need strengthened and who could potentially come in and do a job in the Hoops.

One player we were heavily linked with back in August was Aberdeen’s McKenna, with the Dons rejecting bids and refusing to sell him to the Scottish champions.

Since then he’s had a fairly impressive second half of the season, winning more Scotland caps and performing decently against Brendan Rodgers’ side in the Scottish League Cup final.

The central defensive area could be a priority next month due to Dedrcyk Boyata’s ongoing contract situation. There’s a strong chance he could end up leaving the club mid-season, meaning we would have to bring in a first-team ready replacement.

Fans aren’t quite convinced that McKenna should be that man, with 54% of respondents to a poll we published last week believing he’s a player the club should skip when the transfer window opens.
