Celtic at home to Bodo Glimt should be a shoe in for a home win right?

Of course. Full house. Parkhead under the lights. Special atmosphere with 60,000 of the best fans in the world.

A win by couple of goals. Celtic are favourites to progress the tie. Job done.

But it wasn’t tonights game that Andy Halliday was talking about, strictly speaking.

The Hearts midfielder does believe that Celtic will win the tie overall but he made another prediction that will leave the Hoops fans wondering if this was the REAL Andy Halliday talking.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Halliday said, “If I’m a player, I want to have games under my belt, especially competitive games going into a game of this magnitude.

“But even if Bodo Glimt were well into the season, I still think Celtic will be the favourites going in the game regardless.

“I think Juranovic is a huge boost at being available in a team again.

“And like I said, when I even look at  the teams that are in the competition, I really do feel as if Celtic are one of the, maybe, four or five favourites to go on and win it.

“We always say that the bookies don’t get much wrong and Leicester being 11/2 favourites. to win the competition.

“I don’t think Celtic will fear Leicester so I certainly don’t think they’re going to fear Bodo Glimt.”

And you know what? He’s not far off.

Celtic are currently 6th favourites to win the tournament outright just behind PSV and Feyenoord. Leicester are outright to win it, with Marseille and Rennes not far behind.

I would not fear any one of these teams coming to Celtic Park in this tournament.

Never in my lifetime did I think I would see Celtic in another European Final.

Could this year be the year?
