Ange faces another injury headache

The international break.

It has been the scourge of Celtic over the past two seasons as we inevitably seem to lose one of our players to injury.

Last season, it was Kyogo.

The Japanese striker fell foul of a hamstring injury and was eventually sidelined for around six weeks.

At a time when Ange was working with a seriously depleted squad, it caused the support no end of stress knowing that our only fit striker was then sidelined during a crucial part of the season.

And then it was the turn of Carl Starfelt.

The big Swede has formed a brilliant partnership with Cameron Carter-Vickers but that was disrupted this season when the stopper was stretchered off in June during Sweden’s Nations League clash with Slovenia.

That injury kept him out for a month and had it not been for the acquisition of Moritz Jenz, we would have been facing the start of the season with a defensive cover issue.

This week? David Turnbull.

As reported by The Herald, the Scottish international midfielder pulled out of Steve Clarke’s squad today with an ankle injury picked up against St Mirren so at least we can’t place the blame this on his involvement with the national squad.

There is no specific timeframe on how long Turnbull will be out for but he will miss the next two Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Ukraine.

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?

To be honest,I really don’t see this as a serious injury that we will suffer from Turnbull hasn’t really been playing well and against St Mirren we would have been better off playing with 10 men,as not once can I remember him ever trying anything positive throughout the game played safe and easy pass all day,When on form is a player to watch but unfortunately seems to be there to play as a pool player
