With another result in the bag and Celtic sitting pretty on nine points at the top of the league, after an early first-half scare, Postecoglou’s men stretched their lead at the top of the table, albeit on goal difference, when the gaffer’s second-half substitute of Maeda for Abada turned the game on its head.

The little Israeli winger has had to watch from the sidelines for the majority of the season as Daizen Maeda has torn it up on the left wing with some sparkling performances this season.

But to be fair to him, he has taken his chances whenever he has been brought on and yesterday was no different.

But is Abada happy waiting for his chance or is there a possibility that he could become unsettled?

Ange was asked if there is any possibility that those players who feel that they deserve game time could look to demand first-team football and the Celtic manager’s answer was bang on the money.

As reported by the Daily Record, Ange said, “What do you reckon would happen to players who throw their toys out of the pram, mate?

“Liel’s a really ambitious guy who wants to be at a big football club. He wants to win things and be the best he can be.

“That’s exactly where he is at.

“All our players, particularly the younger ones who want to go on to further opportunities, maybe to a stronger league, do you think they are going to go to a club where they are guaranteed game time?

“No, so it’s no different here.

“We are a big club. Nothing is guaranteed.

“You’ve got to earn everything and these boys do that.”

Ange has already proven that if players are unhappy at the club then he, not the player, will make sure that they are moved on.

Juranovic and Giakoumakis have found that out at their own peril.

As for Abada? I’m pretty sure that whilst he won’t be happy at not featuring in the starting eleven, the youngster will get his head down and fight for his place in the side.

Nothing has happened to suggest otherwise.
