You know when you’ve upset the readers of this newspaper then you are on the side of the good people.

The Daily Mail is notoriously famous for it’s right wing narrative and Tory supporting agenda.

They represent everything that our supporters stand against.

And when they ran the story of the Green Brigade’s banner there was, rather predictably, outrage displayed by their readers.

Now I know the banner is contentious and there will be people who disagree with it, but the Celtic support have every right to voice their disapproval of the Monarchy just as pro-Royalists have every right to support them.

It just seems that at this moment in time, if you’re not for them, you are against the whole country.

It’s just bizarre.

Anyway, their readers took serious exception to the banner and here are some of the best (or worst) replies:

Sara from Northamptonshire: “I am not a royalist and that said as a Celtic supporter (of course you are) I am thoroughly ashamed of this behaviour from some so called fans of the game!”

Kbart from Little Town: “Ban for rest of the season champions league” Brilliant butchering of the English language there.

Steve, from York: “They should never be given a live television slot again.”

Mike from Mount Java, Kyrgyzstan  “People should boycott Celtic . Absolutely shameful behaviour.”

Picolojo from Picolsbury (which is not in Scotland) rather ironically says “They are not representative of Scotland. The farewell the Scots gave the late Queen Elizabeth was beautiful and a fitting send off. Thank you to the good people of Scotland.”

And this guy was so confident of his stance he put his proper name. SW61HS said, “Any other club would be booted out of the competition and heavily fined….let’s see.” Would they? Really?

Classic Daily Mail.

Celtic hold the record for Scottish Cup wins. Can you name the players whose goals won these TEN Scottish Cup Finals? Take the quiz and challenge your friends and family.
