As many people already know, many first team players are eyeing a move out of  Paradise this summer.

We all know the names. Ajer, Edouard, Christie and up until recently, Olivier N’tcham all wanted to work their ticket to pastures new.

The only player that has had any firm interest is Celtic’s towering defender, Kristoffer Ajer.

The big stopper has been the subject of multiple bids this summer and most noteably, Brentford’s impressive £12m offer, rising to £15m with add ons, is the latest to be slapped back by the Parkhead board.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Hugh Keevins couldn’t believe Celtic knocked back the offer and lambasted the Hoops transfer action so far, “As I understand it, Brentford put up a bid of twelve million pounds which would have risen to 15 million pounds. I have to say, I think that’s a fair price for Kris Ajer.

“As it comes into the bite your hand off category for me.

“But if it takes Celtic as long to sell players as it takes Celtic to sign players then Kristoffer Ajer can be it for a long wait.

“Celtic’s Champions League qualifier is next week, and  the last season ended on the 15th of May, we’re now mid July.

“Celtic have signed one player in two months and that’s a 20 year old from Sheffield Wednesday.

“The Celtic fans, must have been expecting a greater response.”

The last point is probably the most salient. Celtic fans dug deep, again, selling out season tickets in record speed after Ange Postecoglou was revealed as Celtic boss. The board have done nothing to repay the faith shown in  the club.

It’s time they dug deep, and fast, before our rivals are so far ahead of us the “Banter Years” take a full circle.

If they haven’t already done so.
