I’ve written on this site on many of occasions just how I feel about ‘pundits’ like Allan Hutton and his cohorts from Football Insider pretending to have some form of knowledge on our club.

Whether it be our transfer strategy or advice on players, these guys know nothing about the club so just quite why they are asked anything is beyond me.

After his ramblings about reported target, Yuki Kobayashi, Hutton turned his hand once again and predicted this little gem of transfer news in Football Insider.

This is also the same guy that called for a ban on the Green Brigade for using pyro’s and totally ignored his own club’s fans abuse of them.

Speaking about the future of James McCarthy, Hutton said, “I was surprised at the contract they actually gave him. It was a long-term deal at the time with somebody who had not really been able to stay fit. It was a bit of a strange one.

“When he has played we have seen in flashes what he is capable of but it has not been on that consistent level. I think if offers do come in they will definitely listen to them.“

Well no sh*t Sherlock.

A player who is so far behind the pecking order that he is practically at a new club (pardon the pun) already.

Abildgaard, Mooy and O’Riley are preferred to McCarthy at the moment and with Ideguchi biding his time as well, it does look like the Irishman’s time may be up at Celtic.

And considering he will be on a hefty wage just for sitting on the bench doing nothing, it doesn’t take rocket science to work out that if an offer came in. ANY offer, Celtic would take it.

Well done Allan. Great insight there.

Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?
