As Celtic are set to face Bodo Glimt this month in the Europa Conference League, the squad will need to be utilised more as the fixtures, both domestically and abroad, come thick and fast.

With Aberdeen up next at Pittodrie on Wednesday night, Ange Postecoglou will have a job on his hands rotating his squad to lessen the chances of injury  but also to ensure the league challenge and his assualt on Europe are not affected.

With that in mind, Celtic released their Europa Conference League squad this morning and there is one January acquisition that won’t be taking part is Yosuke Ideguchi.

Ideguchi was part of the Japanese trio that joined the club in the winter window to a massive fanfare on Hogmanay and he will play no part, for this season at least, in Celtic’s Europa Conference fixtures.

Ideguchi was injured against Alloa after a horror tackle and has not featured since.

Daizen Maeda was added to the squad along with Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate and as Postecoglou could only make three further additions to his squad, Ideguchi is the one that misses out.

Interestingly, Kyogo is in the squad which could hint to a return earlier than first thought for the new talisman.

Celtic fave Bodo Glimt on 17th February at Celtic Park with the second leg to be played a week later on the 24th in Norway.
