This was a good listen. Part of this job, as you all know, is to try and bring you the stories that no one else does. And you guys seem to enjoy that and it is you, the reader, that has made this blog as popular as it is.

Normally with this kind of thing, I would rip into the podcaster that is having a pop at the Scottish game because to a certain extent they are.
Now the Gerrard to Villa story has drummed up the old who’s club is bigger than who argument?
It’s the equivalent of the rich kid saying my dad is bigger than your dad because he has more money, even though my dad is a heavy weight boxer.
You get the idea.
And, as with any football fan, you will defend your club if it’s name is being besmirched. And that is what the guys at the The Villa Podcast were doing.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Villa are a massive club. Huge in the Midlands. Even as a Celtic fan I can admit that. But bigger than Rangers? I’m not so sure.
But that is an argument for another day.
The good thing about these guys is that they know who is the biggest team in Scotland and they were scathing with their analysis of the Ibrox club in this brilliant, and clearly bemused, rant, “This idea that Rangers are a bigger club than Villa.
“We have to stop pretending this stuff.
“I thought that Brendan Rodgers going to Leicester thing, when Celtic who are on a bigger club than Rangers, who are way more successful, a way better team in a way better place.
“When Rogers left there to end up at Leicester, I think that’s sort of put paid to that.
“And the big thing I thought would be smacking people over face, and even Rangers fans would notice themselves if they stopped for a second to think about it, ‘Would any Villa player leave to go to Rangers?‘”
Cutting. Right to the bone.
As a Celtic fan, clearly I agree with this.
Celtic are a far bigger club than Rangers.
The full, intact, history of the club proves that but these guys still need to remember one thing, just because you have a bigger house, it doesn’t make you as popular as you think.

No Rogers left Celtic in the lurch for money Villa no where near Big as Celtic Rogers will just keep his big mouth shut to keep in with the Villa fans.
Celtic are big because of catholosism yeah you sign Protestants and Catholics or anybody good enough.To think Rangers were far bigger and successful only playing protetants up till mojo signed. Celtic have won quadruple trebles 11 championships in 12 years but are still behind the oldco in the trophy count, enough said
