Boli Bolingoli’s future at Celtic was always going to be doubtful after single handedly causing his team to have two games postponed for breaking Covid-19 protocols but an unlikely suitor has emerged as front runners for his signature.

Serie A side Roma are, according to The Daily Record, leading the chase for the left-back with the Italian giants set to lose Aleksandar Kolarov to Inter Milan and in need of a replacement.

Bolingoli is far from flavour of the month with Neil Lennon and when the news first broke of his indiscretion, the Hoops gaffer hammered the Belgian to the extent that there seemed to be no way back for the 25-year old:

“It will be very difficult to imagine him (Bolingoli) being welcomed back into the dressing room in the future.

“This is a rogue who has gone off tangent and has done something very very selfish. We have been completely oblivious to this. I’m absolutely livid it’s a total betrayal of our trust.

“We have been bitterly let down by an individual. I didn’t want to hear his excuse. He has blatantly disregarded our instructions.

“There’s anger and disappointment from the squad. It’s just simply not good enough and it’s disrupted our plans.”

Bolingoli hasn’t lived up to his £3million price tag with Greg Taylor winning the battle for a regular starting slot at both left-back and left wing-back but Lennon is obviously in the market for an upgrade with Mitchel Bakker topping a short list of potential targets.

Will Bolingoli play for Celtic again?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The sooner Bolingoli finds another club, the better it will be for all parties concerned, he has lost the trust of his manager and teammates and when that happens, there is only one outcome.
