Celtic are close to settling a partnership with Mexican Premier League club Santos Laguna.

“Like Celtic, Santos Laguna is much more than a football club, an organisation with a very strong social and community dimension but also a very professional club with a desire for success” – Peter Lawwell

That would allow both clubs to share knowledge on the likes of coaching, players and football academies and perhaps in the future even exchange first-team players.

“We have developed an excellent relationship already with Santos Laguna and we hope to formalise this partnership early next year. Laguna is a great club, run by great people,” chief exectutive Peter Lawwell told Celtic’s official website.

“It is a club with a tremendous pedigree and one whose ethos is closely aligned to our own,” he added. “Like Celtic, Santos Laguna is much more than a football club, an organisation with a very strong social and community dimension but also a very professional club with a desire for success.

“We are sure the professionalism, spirit, enthusiasm and knowledge of Santos Laguna will be a real asset to Celtic.”
