According to French outlet RMC Sport, Celtic are looking into the possibility of trying to sign Ligue 1 player James Lea Siliki from Rennes this summer.

The French top flight perhaps doesn’t get all that much credit given PSG’s dominance but there are still some good players that feature in it outside of the French capital.

Siliki appears to be attracting interest from some very handy clubs, too, with FC Porto apparently already having a bid of £7.2m rejected for him.

They’re yet to go back with a new bid, too, and so it remains to be seen if the Hoops look to get involved with the bidding – with it fair to suggest it’ll have to be a higher offer than what the Portuguese side submitted.

Rennes finished in 10th last season in the French top-flight and so the Bhoys seem a more credible option in terms of offering trophies and European football on the regular – let’s see if that sways him.
