It’s been reported that Celtic are looking at West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke and that we could give him a way out of The Hawthorns this month on a possible loan deal.

The hugely talented 21-year-old made a mark in the English Championship for Nottingham Forest and after 13 starts and 18 substitute appearances (six goals) he got a big money move to RB Leipzig.

He struggled to establish himself there and then made the switch in 2017 to West Brom for a reported £15million, but again he’s struggled – only making four starts with 17 showings coming from the bench.

He last featured for them in early December and he’s been with the Under 23 group since, but West Brom head coach Darren Moore has constantly talked up his chances and spoken of how hard he’s worked, and the way his fitness has improved.

So it is a slightly curious case really.

West Brom are said to be very open to a loan move this month, but they may even be prepared to do a permanent deal and if Brendan Rodgers could get him back to his early career best, he would definitely be an asset.

But it still goes down as a risk.
