Celtic face competition from Premier League side to sign 21-year-old this summer

|

Celtic will face competition from Crystal Palace if they are to try and sign Oliver Burke during this summer’s transfer window, as reported by The Daily Record.

The paper say that the forward is not keen on a future at West Bromwich Albion and is considering his future plans.

Given he is so happy at Celtic, some have speculated the Hoops could make a big money move for him in the upcoming window.

However, Crystal Palace are now interested and could likely offer more money and wages to the Scotland international, with Director of Football Dougie Freedman very keen on his talents, according to the report.

Burke made a big impression on his arrival at Celtic Park in January, scoring four goals and assisting another, but has since gone off the boil.

That drop in form has led to some fans questioning whether he is worth a significant transfer fee, especially when we already have a good option like Odsonne Edouard in attack.

His performance for Scotland earlier today won’t have helped change those minds and he’ll have to make a significant contribution in the tail-end of the season to convince supporters he is a long-term option in Glasgow.
