Josip Juranovic was clearly a very popular character amongst the players during his time at Celtic.
The clip of him asking Ange Postecoglou for a day off after sealing the title and the reaction of the manager tells you that behind closed doors, the former Celtic right back was a bit of a live wire.
Some people like that, some don’t.
Ange clearly didn’t like the question and the reaction of the teammates at the time just showed you that he was definitely a character within the dressing room.
And it seems he has taken that to his new club.
Speaking to Bild, Union Berlin manager Oliver Ruhnert said of Juranovic’s short time at the club, “At first we had the expectation that it [the transfer] would probably not work out.
“When it comes to sums, we’re rather out. We kept at it and were rewarded in the end.
“We had him [Aissa Ladouni] on our radar for a long time. But it was never realistic.
“These were completely different sums. But as with Juranovic, we came at the right moment. It’s also an anticipation of next season.
“Both are very positive guys in the dressing room. This is extremely gratifying. That’s exactly what we wanted.”
Juranovic has had a great start to his Union career. Helping the club bolster their second place position in the Bundesliga just one point off Bayern Munich, the Croatian has a very realistic chance of winning it.
