Celtic have been criticised, and rightly so, for the continued loss of young talent over the past two seasons.

With Ben Doak looking like the next Parkhead exit after firm interest from Liverpool and a small courting from Chelsea and Benfica, the trend of losing our top talent seems to be close to getting bucked after the news yesterday that Mitchell Frame and Daniel Kelly are set to sign contract extensions at the club.

But it seems the club are now starting to recruit some of the top young talent in the game after they have been lauded for the capture of highly rated teenager Jack Thomson.

Thomson was signed from Mossend and according to The Daily Record, he has a bright future in the game.

His club released a statement confirming the move, “All at Mossend Football Club would like to wish Jack Thomson all the luck in the world, after signing his pro youth contract with Celtic Football Club.

“Jack has played for Mossend 2008’s for over six years and will be a huge loss to the club. Well done to all coaches in Jack’s development over the years.

“The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it. Well done, Jack.”

This is good news for the fans as some, like this site, had been asking questions of Celtic’s recent youth policy but now it seems the club have set plans in motion to improve and expand our recruitment policy.
