Celtic’s youth prospects are clearly highly rated.
Last season we say a plethora of young talent get plucked out of Paradise as it seemed that the Celtic youngsters were prized away with the promises of first team development and a healthy pay check.
And I would not begrudge any of them it.
But it does make you wonder exactly what are the club doing when it comes to nurturing and securing our best talents.
Take Ben Doak, for example.
Chased by elite clubs in England and abroad, the youngster has already shown, albeit fleetingly, just how good he is with sparse appearances in the first team.
But it was his assist for Scotland u17’s that shows exactly why Liverpool are pulling out all the stops to land the young man:
Great assist from current Celtic youngster Ben Doak this afternoon – such quick bursts of pace past his marker

Stunning control to leave two for dead in the centre of the park and a deft pass with the outside of the right boot to find his target is just a glimpse of the vision and craft that is set to leave the club should Liverpool persuade him to move to Merseyside.
I hope he stays.
I hope he buys into what Ange Postecoglou is telling him and aims to continue his development at Celtic.
I hope, but I fear it is already too late.
