Celtic left sweating on major potential injury blow ahead of cup final

|

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is a doubt to feature in the upcoming Scottish Cup Final against Hearts, as reported by The Daily Record.

The paper say he injured his ankle late in the match against Rangers on Sunday but had to stay on the pitch as all our substitutes had been used.

Already a doubt for the upcoming league match against Hearts, there are also concerns he may not recover in time ahead of the Hampden final the weekend after.

He’s one of three players struggling for fitness with Mikael Lustig and Jonny Hayes both nursing hamstring problems ahead of the showpiece final.

The absence of Edouard would be a real blow to our chances of lifting the trophy, with no real quality back-up to speak of as a replacement for the Frenchman.

Lustig’s injury is a concern too with just Jeremy Toljan and Anthony Ralston available for the match. Hayes has also been an important player for Neil Lennon over the last couple of months.

Hopefully we get an update on the status of all three from Lennon later in the week.
