Celtic have been linked with a move for Red Star Belgrade striker Milan Pavkov, according to The Scotsman.

The paper reckon he was perhaps the subject of interest for the Hoops last week after the club sent scouts to take in the club’s UEFA Champions League clash against Napoli, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

With Moussa Dembele leaving at the end of the summer transfer window, Brendan Rodgers’ squad is looking a little light in attack with the manager on the record as saying he’d prefer to have three strikers to choose from.

Rated at £1.1m by Transfermarkt, Pavkov has proven himself to be an exciting talent over the last 12 months, scoring 23 goals in the Serbian top-flight last term for Radnicki Nis, before hitting three in four appearances at the start of this campaign for Red Star.

His contract would appear to expire next summer, perhaps making a bargain move to Glasgow more viable in January when he would theoretically be free to speak to the Hoops.

This is one to keep an eye on when January rolls around again.
