Jack Hendry had to come on as a substitute for the injured Kristoffer Ajer on Wednesday night and fans were happy with his performance for perhaps the first time so far this season.
The 23-year-old has suffered severe criticism for under-par performances throughout the summer and into the autumn, as recently as this weekend when his defending was seen as a big part of the reason the side lost to Kilmarnock.
In the League Cup match against St Johnstone though he looked far more confident and didn’t make any of the glaring errors that have littered his spell at the Hoops since joining from Dundee.
It was undoubtedly an improvement and given there are so many injuries or suspensions in the position right now then Brendan Rodgers will need him to up his game further.
Fans were pleased to see him do well and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…
You know who did fine tonight? Jack Hendry. Gets pelters when he does wrong, so deserves a shout-out. Can't be easy for him right now and it didn't look like weekend's match impacted him. Good mentality.
