Celtic linked with Everton striker

Celtic have joined the race to sign Everton and former England Under-21 international striker James Vaughan in a £1million deal.

The 22-year-old appeared as a late substitute in the weekend Merseyside derby as his side claimed a 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

But the SPL leaders are likely to face competition from Cardiff City for a player who spent the opening months of the season on loan at their Championship rivals Crystal Palace.

The Birmingham-born forward netted five goals in fourteen appearances at Selhurst Park and is understood to be chasing a permanent move to kick-start his career.
