This is what happens when you have players of quality.

They get called up to their international squads and automatically the limelight is on them.

Matt O’Riley, although not a fully-fledged international star yet, appeared for the Denmark u21’s this week and got himself on the scoresheet in the 2-2 draw with Croatia.

O’Riley will have done his hopes for a full international cap no harm with his display and no doubt he will harbour hopes to make the Danish squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

But a report from Sport TV2 has revealed that O’Riley’s performance was witnessed by 39 clubs from all around Europe and, yes, they were not all there just to see the Celtic midfielder but they will all go away impressed with his performance.

Teams from the big five leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France were all in attendance as well as clubs from Denmark, Belgium, Scotland and Holland.

Most notably, Manchester United, Newcastle and Borrusia Dortmund all attended the match and these three clubs were all specifically mentioned in recent reports [ESPN] as having taken an interest in O’Riley.

It will be interesting to see if any of these clubs look to make a move for the Hoops midfielder as he continues to go from strength to strength under Ange Postecoglou.
