According to Ghana Soccer Net, Celtic were interested in signing Gideon Mensah from Red Bull Salzburg but it looks as though that is not going to be happening any time soon now.
The player apparently had an option between joining us and Belgian side Zulte Waregem and it is clear that he has opted for the Belgian outlet, with the club confirming the signing of the Ghanaian on Twitter:

For Celtic, this is a rather familiar feeling.
The Hoops have been linked with a number of players this summer and, though you can’t sign them all, we have missed out on quite a few this window by the looks of things.
Even so, we still have time to add to the side and I don’t think we are that far away from having a squad capable of doing what we’ve done in the last few years and dominate on the domestic scene.
