Injury update leaves impressive Celtic player on the sidelines

|

Celtic emphatically qualified for the Europa League group stages last night as we brushed aside AIK 4-1 on the night and 6-1 on aggregate with a fine performance.

The Hoops went into the game needing to show their mettle and, in the end, they proved that they were just a cut above the side from the Swedish capital.

We can look forward to more European nights in the coming weeks, then, but in the meantime all focus now is on the Old Firm which takes place on Sunday afternoon.

And, by the sounds of things, we’ve got a few injury issues to have to deal with, with full-back Hatem Abd Elhamed one of the issues.

The recent summer signing has started his Celtic career well with some powerful running on display but it looks as though he could be out of action for the next few weeks.

With quotes taken from his interview with Celtic TV, Neil Lennon revealed the latest on the player:

“I think it’s just a slight fracture in a bone at the side.

“Now, you can play with it but there’s a lot of discomfort and he’s just going through that at the minute.

“We have to assess him but sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to recover from something like that.”
