Celtic set to receive cash windfall if summer deal is signed

|

In the last few days, Vital Celtic reported that Celtic were on the verge of receiving a cash windfall if Atletico Madrid turned the speculation of a move for Moussa Dembele a reality. The Spanish La Liga leaders  made enquiries to sign the Frenchman less than 48  hours ago the reports are that Dembele has signed a short term loan deal with Atlertco having an option to buy in the talented striker in the summer.

According to marca.com Diego Simeone had earmarked Dembele as the ideal replacement for Diego Costa and has got his man today as he sealed the deal just a few hours ago.

The initial deal is for a short term six month loan and if Atletico wish to make the move permanent, Atletico can buy outright for 33 million Euros. It is understood that there is no buy out clause in the deal for the hitman, but the agreement is in place should Simeone want to go ahead and take on Dembele permanently.

If the move goes through, Celtic have the right to a 10% fee of any profit made which could mean that the coffers at Paradise could be swelled by a cool £1.5m.

Dembele has struggled to command a regular starting place in the Lyon first team since his £19m from Celtic two seasons ago but he still manages to average a goal every 2.28 games, netting thirty two times in seventy seventy three appearances which is not far off the form that earned Demebele his move from the Scottish Champions to the Ligue 1 side.
