Playing in Scotland, Celtic and the fans are used to being looked down upon by fans and teams from some of the so-called bigger leagues in Europe.

It’s par for the course really.

In fact, it’s something we have had to endure since the 90’s when Sky and TV money, in general, took over and invested heavily in those leagues from bigger countries that command higher audiences.

Even when Celtic went toe-to-toe with teams from England in Europe and regularly beat them we still do not get the credit we deserved. And it goes on even to this day.

And now, it seems, even our players are copping it. But not from the fans of the big clubs.

From scouts now.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, pundit Leeanne Crichton revealed an incredible discussion she had with a scout regarding Celtic star Matt O’Riley.

Crichton revealed, “I think he’s a top footballer. He looks to me like he’s a top athlete only going with what I see on the pitch.

“I think his stats must be off the scale at times.

“I spoke to somebody the other week and he was like, ‘He’s not that good. He’s not as good as he looks.’

“He was actually a scout, and we had this debate about him and I could not believe that somebody had that opinion of him because from what I’ve seen, in Scotland, I think he’s been outstanding every game that he’s played.

“Really cool, calm and composed, technically very good.

“He gets about the pitch really well. And I thought that was Celtic were missing.

“In the games that he’s not started, he’s a notable absentee.

“So to me it’s no surprise that teams are watching him.”

What an incredible take from a guy who is a supposed expert in the game.

Not only has Matt O’Riley been sensational since his arrival at Celtic in January, his form has been so good that he is reportedly being scouted by some of the biggest clubs in England and Europe.

With the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Borrusia Dortmund all linked with the player, I genuinely wonder where this scout gets that opinion from.

Go Radio ! Now there’ s a multiple award winning radio show ! It’s all conjecture ,speculation ,and guesstimates from that lot ! When was the last time Go Radios plethora of football mouthpieces came up with a bona fide scoop story that knocked you off your stride ? Don’t let’s be influenced by an organisation who employs Rob Mc Lean , et al !
