If you’re a successful team and winning trophies, clubs are going to look at your players and, of course, your manager.

Especially if you are at a club like Celtic.

We, as fans, have had to put up with a litany of speculative headlines surrounding Ange and some of our key players over the last three or four months and, to be honest, apart from the two that left the club in January in Giakoumakis and Juranovic, the rumours amounted to all but nothing.

Zero. Zilch.

But that doesn’t mean that there are not clubs interested in our players.

Especially those that are clearly in rich vein of form.

And Gordon Parks has hinted that Celtic could be in for a nervous summer regarding one of our top stars.

Speaking on The Record Celtic podcast, Parks said, “From the big clubs in England, out of the whole batch of Celtic players, Hatate’s the one they are looking at.

“And, I think, for good reason.

“Dynamic, he’s got talent, he’s got touch, he’s managed to get his engine working.

“He is the link man. He’s got a driving force in him

“He’s exactly what English clubs are looking for.”

Hatate has been in superb form this season for Celtic. Since signing last January, the Japanese midfielder has kicked on and has been wowing the fans (and clearly English scouts) with some impressive displays both in Europe and domestically.

I don’t think there is any desire from Celtic or Reo to make a move happen but what is clear is that if he continues with he recent run of form, Celtic will be tested this summer from those clubs Parks has hinted at.

Who were Celtic’s most expensive transfers these seasons?

There’s a togetherness about the club that I hope will bound the squad and manager for a number of years yet with CL the stage and progress the glue. In Hatate we have found a very talented and energic dynamo, only an exceptionally high £30m plus add ons offer should be considered at this time in his contract. If he wants to play in a higher quality league with a league challenging team on improved wages then that’s understandable but not yet unless an unbelievable, to good to refuse, fee is on offer and acceptable to him.
I think Celtic should be looking for another treble; to keep Hatate, Kyogo and Maeda together at Celtic. We sold JJ at a bargain sale price and this must not be the way going forward unless of course there are clauses already installed in contracts that allowed us to entice quality of this standard to the club in the first place. I’d love him to stay, with an improved contract at Paradise, and continue to help build something special going forward. HH
