With the news that Tom Rogic and Daizen Maeda have both withdrawn from their respective international squads to do injury, there is hope that they will be fit in time for the upcoming Glasgow Derby.

With Rogic a more serious doubt, the strength in depth that the club have in that area of the park should be able to absorb the Australian internationals absence.

But news developed tonight of yet another international injury blow for the Hoops.

Not as significant as Rogic, Lewis Laird tweeted that young Johnny Kenny was taken off injured in the 35th minute of Ireland u19’s match against their English counterparts.

Laird said, Unfortunate early ending to Johnny Kenny’s game, as the striker is brought off after 35 minutes due to injury Sounds like he made a good start to the match, hitting the post early on.

“Hopefully, not out for too long 🤞.”

Young Kenny joined the Hoops in the January window from Irish side Sligo Rovers for just over £150,ooo and has been developing well in the Celtic B squad.

There was high hopes that Kenny could help his side put the English u19’s to the sword but his early injury put an end to his involvement in the match.

Hopefully it’s not a bad one but we will keep an eye on the progress of his recovery during the international break.
