Celtic endured a frustrating night at Fir Park as we faced Motherwell on our first return to league action since the final on Sunday.

It was always going to be a tough game against a robust side and it certainly proved a competitive affair.

Indeed, after the final we were going to look a bit leggy and so to address that Brendan sort to make changes to the side – seven in all.

Whether or not that was wise is up for debate, though, as we could only draw 1-1 as we conceded late on and a fair few of our players have come in for some serious stick.

With that in mind, then, Cristian Gamboa was one man to get some criticism fired his way and it’s safe to say that that was fair enough.

Let’s take a look at what was said about the full-back’s performance on what was ultimately a disappointing night…

More from George Wainwright:

Celtic need to stop messing around and get this deal moving

  • Rotation is necessary but more than 2 or 3 affects the team rhythm. However we did learn some important points : Gambia and Hayes not good enough, the Sinclair of his first season has gone,Griffiths and Brown way off pace and form,Odsonne needs a rest and McGregor for Brown had team playing better. Sorting out needs doing before this weekend!
