The one thing about this Celtic side is that it has quality all the way through it.

The starting eleven is as strong as I have ever seen it and what is amazing is that when you look at the bench, there is not one player on it that you would say significantly weakens the side if and when they are introduced.

On Sunday against Dundee United, the starting squad was probably one of the strongest, if not the strongest you will see all season and former Scotland manager Craig Levein complimented it with a kind of envious and begrudging admission with praise for one of our hottest talents.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Levein said, “For me it’s the different types of problems that you have to face.

“You play against Jota, Maeda comes on.

“I mean he’s just like if you ever play Scalectrix, it’s like having the pedal to the metal on Scalectrix.

“He just goes 100 miles an hour every time.

“And you think, ‘Wow, give us peace would you?'”.

A weird wee way to compliment Maeda but in a strange way, you can kind of see where he is coming from.

Imagine spending a whole sixty minutes trying to keep the trickery of Jota at bay, which in itself can be extremely tiresome, and then looking around at he fourth official’s board and see the power and speed of Maeda coming on to replace him.

It’s brilliantly demoralising for the opposition and for our rivals.

Because they know that if we are struggling to break down teams, we have incredible options to bring on off the bench to turn the tide of the game in our favour like we have done countless times over this season and last.
