With Ange Postecoglou already confirming that there will be no more incomings in January, I think every Celtic fan will look at this January window with a sense of satisfaction.

With four new players, two players gone and possibly more leaving on loan, not only has Ange added quality, but he is also removing those that either don’t contribute or want to leave for first-team football.

But will we look back at this window and possibly regret not getting the Cho guey-Sung?

The South Korean striker was a World Cup sensation in his homeland and his newfound notoriety had seen him linked with a number of clubs across Europe.

Celtic were hotly tipped to land Cho, but when push came to shove, the Korean decided to remain put, paving the way for Ange Postecoglou to sign Oh.

According to the Daily Record today, a January move for the South Korean striker is dead due to the arrival of Oh, but the report did caveat that with a hint that a move for Cho is off only ‘until at least the summer‘.

Even Pete O’Rourke believes that the deal may not yet be dead.

Speaking a couple of days ago to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke claimed, “They’ve got Oh in, who looks a good player and a player that Ange Postecoglou rates highly as well.

“So Oh’s come in, it’ll probably pave the way for Giakoumakis to leave, but I’m sure Celtic might rekindle their interest in Cho come the summer, if they’re still in the market for forward reinforcements.”

Two reports, the same opinion. Cho may well still come to Paradise.

The summer is already starting to look very interesting.
