The Leigh Griffiths question will probably never be answered at Celtic. It has been over five years since the former Scotland striker had any hint of what we could call a decent season wearing the Hoops.

To be constantly labelled as “the best striker in Scotland when fit” is a song that is on continual repeat this summer and it seems as if Griffiths was getting one last chance under Postecoglou. Then his social media activity gets him into trouble. Again.

So how will Ange manager the nomadic striker? That is the question that was posed to Craig Moore by Davie Provan on Go Radio when the former Celtic midfielder asked Moore if Postecoglou is a “pinned up against the wall” or “arm around the shoulder manager”.

Moore was  member of Ange’s backroom staff as part of the Socceroo’s and knows the Celtic manager well.

Here is what he said as he gave us the insight into the man management skills of the Aussie gaffer, “Definitely will not be pinned against the wall. Again, the kind of the characters that he’s (Postecoglou) been bringing in, in terms of the signings we touched on are very, very important because they are a big part of driving the culture within.

“And like I says he’ll give him all the support that he needs.

“But it’s up Leigh Griffiths. It’s up to him, you know.  I think Ange touched on it, it’s how he (Griffiths) trains.”

So it seems like Ange has a self policing style that he expects all players to drive the culture within the dressing room and not just the gaffer.

Is that an approach that will work with Griffiths? Do the Celtic fans even want him anywhere near the club?

Who knows, but one things is for sure. It does seem as though Griffiths will need to self motivate himself to get him going again, and maybe that’s exactly the type of approach the Celtic striker needs.
