It’s been a pretty good few weeks for Celtic. Despite our draw at the weekend, we’re back at the top of the table, and we certainly would have taken that earlier this season.

We had a slow start to the campaign, but we’ve finally picked up the pace, and we don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

That said, there is always room for improvement, and one player that has a few question marks over him at present is Mikael Lustig. The Swede’s been inconsistent lately, and we recently made the case for him losing his spot in the first team as a result.

It seems as though many fans agree, too, at least judging by a recent poll. We recently asked Celtic supporters whether Lustig should be dropped for good, and in response, a whopping 71% of those polled voted in favour of such action.

Lustig has been a fantastic servant for Celtic, but there’s no denying that he’s slowed down considerably of late. He’s lacking the physicality, consistency and quality that made him such a defensive force.

Against RB Leipzig last week, he was arguably the one player on the pitch in green and white that didn’t look good, and that says it all.

Perhaps it’s time for Brendan Rodgers to start looking forward and past Lustig.
